Year 6 Wider Opening

Please read the information below and then confirm place (if you haven't already) via link below smiley

Our working practices will be very different, which will be emotionally difficult for both staff and children.  Our paramount concern is the well-being of the whole school community and a reassurance that whilst in school, both children and staff can feel safe.  The measures outlined in the Home School Agreement, whilst perhaps seeming harsh, are essential for the safe opening on an additional provision in school.

You MUST read the Home School Agreement and share this with your child. Please also read the Risk Assessment prior to your child attending school.

In order for your child to return to school, the following expectations must be adhered to for the safety and protection of the whole school community:

Wider Opening

This section will give you information regarding the wider opening of our school and how this will affect your Year 6 Child.

As you have requested a place, we have worked through the logistics and the 'Bubble' approach will be used to enable our school to allow more children to access the provision.

In response to the requested places, we have made:

2x Bubbles of 10 children and 2 adults

Bubble A - Mrs France and Ms Bradshaw-6R Children (10)

Bubble B - Miss Harrison and Mrs Harvey-6M Children (10)

The purpose of the bubbles is to allow our Year 6 children to return to school in a safe, socially distanced way.

The bubbles will have limited contact with other members of the school community and no new children will be given access to the 'Bubble' once it has started.   It is an expectation that children taking up the place will attend Monday-Thursday for the 4 weeks up until the end of term.

Any children who do not attend on 22nd June will have their place revoked due to the complexity of the planning needed to open the school to a wider number of children.

Below is a copy of the timetable for each Bubble.

Bubbles will run Monday-Thursday and the provision will be closed on Friday to provide Deep Cleaning of rooms and Planning Time for staff.

As your child is in Year 6, they are able to bring themselves in a morning and walk home at the end of the day. However, this is a parental decision so please make school aware if you will be collecting your child at the end of the school day.  Collection will be the same as drop off- via Emerson Road Gate.

Packed Lunches are available from school and can be paid for using Parent Pay.

On arrival:

Children will enter the school yard from the gate on Emerson Road. A member of staff will be there to greet the children.  Parents must not enter the school yard.

Children will be lined up on the red dots ready to be brought into school

Once in school children will wash their hands before making their way to their classrooms.

(It is vital that children follow the rules set out in order for school to remain a safe space for all the school community so please talk to your child about school and how different it will be.)

You MUST NOT send your child to school if they display any of the Covid 19 symptoms and you MUST notify school immediately.
